Digital Wireless Bodypack Transmitter

The Sony DWT-B30 body pack transmitter combines the advanced digital technology used within the DWT-B03R, assuring stable, secure and extremely high quality digital transmissions, with the housing of the well loved DWT-B01N. This transmitter from Sony’s third generation DWX series, is a great choice for a wide range of applications, from theatre and concerts to studio based TV production and ENG/EFP.

DWT-B30

Operating across a wide bandwidth of up to 148 MHz (depending on region) the DWT-B30 is optimised for finding clear frequencies in even the noisiest of environments. With the addition of the high density channel groups, you can now squeeze up to 21 channels per 8MHz TV Channel. Compatible with Sony’s wireless studio control software, up to 82 transmitters can be controlled via the Cross Remote™ function combined with the RMU-01 remote control unit (available separately).

The DWT-B30 is available in two frequency variants:

  • DWT-B30/H – DWX Series Bodypack Transmitter 566.025MHz to 714.000 MHz (UHF-TV channels 33 to 51)
  • DWT-B30/L – DWX Series Bodypack Transmitter 470.025MHz to 614.000 MHz (UHF-TV channels 21 to 38)
  • Superb quality wireless transmission and reception

Sony’s years of experience in engineering audio products give us great features such as a dynamic range of more than 106db. Along with a frequency response of 20-22kHz and excellent transient response we can happily say that this is the best sounding digital system going.

  • Remote Control

The Sony DWT-B30 is compatible with Sony Wireless Studio control software for PC (Ver 5.0 or later), allowing flexible remote operation. Remote control of up to 82 transmitters is possible using the Cross Remote™ function combined with the RMU-01 remote control unit (available separately).

  • Wide bandwidth

Up to 148 MHz bandwidth (depending on region) enables flexible operation with wide channel selection.

The Sony DWX range uses something called Sony X-Dimension Diversity™. Combining the diversity Sony’s advanced digital technology, the diversity of multiple dimensions and lastly algorithms of high calculation accuracy gives you incredibly stable transmission stability.

An audio latency of only 1.2msec combines with high quality 96 kHz audio

MODE1: Compatible with first generation DWX-series devices.
MODE2: Prioritises short latency times while maintaining transmission stability and high audio quality.
MODE3: Additional signal processing suppresses noise caused by unexpected pulse interference.
MODE4: Prioritises audio quality while maintaining transmission stability and low delay time.

RF output power level is selectable (2mW/10mW/25mW) to prioritise stable multi-channel or long distance operation.

A USB DC power source can be used for long-term operation or as an emergency power supply.

The DWT-B30 can be operated with a variety of AA-type batteries including alkaline, lithium or NiMH. Alkaline batteries allow up to 6.5 hours operation.

To minimise the risk of interception the DWT-B30 transmits and receivers digitally encrypted and modulated data. This ensures secure reception and transition with AES 256-bit encryption.

Whilst you can use the Sony DWT-B30 straight out of the box, there are a host of 3rd party accessories by MW3DD which give even more flexibility to the system. The accessories for the DWT-B30 are:

  • BATX-NP – Battery Adaptor for NP-BX1 Li-Ion Rechargeable Battery
  • DC-DWX – DC Power Supply for DWT-B30 with 4-pin Hirose connection
  • DWT-B01/30 CLIP – Belt Clip for DWT-B30, Top-Down Direction
